This interactive timeline is based on TNI and the Global Drug Policy Observatory report, The Rise and Decline of Cannabis Prohibition. It is being produced in the run-up to the UN General Assembly Special Session (UNGASS) on drug policy, to tell the story of how cannabis was erroneously included in drug control conventions and why there is an urgent need for a revision of the treaties in line with scientific evidence and based on principles of harm reduction and human rights.
